Congrats to the CrossFit McComb members that used their fitness this weekend. Jessie Rymer competed in his first RX individual comp at New State CrossFit’s Brouhaha in Laurel & took 1st place!! Tracy ran the Northeast Jones Eye of the Tiger 5k. She not only placed first in her age group, but PRd her 5k time. LeeAnn Bates rode 2 laps (~20 miles) at the 12 Hours of Mt Zion in Brookhaven. It was a six mile midnight trail race in Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton, LA. Big shout out to Kimberly on being 2nd place overall female. Miranda Smith & LeeAnn Bates, along with friends from the Mississippi Ultra & Trail Society, ran in the Screaming Monkey 100 in Eddie D. Jones Park in Keithville, Louisiana.Continue reading →
At CrossFit McComb, we don’t just workout to get better at CrossFit. We workout to have fun & enjoy what our fitness allows us to do.
This weekend several members “used their fitness!”
Scott & Tara Campbell made our Saturday workout a family event by bringing the kids, London & Brody!
Kimberly Hardy Bean, Adrianne Woodall Weekley, and Maddox Spears ran the Road to a Cure 5k in Osyka – and Kristen Spears was the race director. Kimberly was first overall female. Adrianne was second place in her age group. And this was Maddox’s first race!
Jonathan White ran the Trick or Treat Trot 5k in Brookhaven.
And LeeAnn Bates finished the Homochitto River Race (run, mountain bike, kayak) in Meadville.
Congrats to everyone for taking on challenges and accomplishing them!
TURKEY DAY 5K
CrossFit McComb’s Turkey Day 5K will hold its inaugural running this Thanksgiving Day at 8am in Summit, MS – with a 5k and 1-mile route. This will be a LIVE race. We are also offering an option to participate in a virtual race any day that weekend from Thursday, November 26 to Sunday, November 29. In conjunction with the race, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for MICA (McComb’s Interdenominational Care Association).

5k Start Time: 8am
1-mile Start Time: 8:45am (immediately following the last 5k finisher)
LIVE & VIRTUAL RACE FEES: (all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable)
$30 through November 16
$35 November 17 – November 24
$40 Race Day Registration
All participants will receive a finisher medal after completing the race.
All runners (5k & 1 mile) registered by Monday, November 16 will be guaranteed their requested shirt size. We will do our best to accommodate anyone registering after Monday, November 16th to get their requested shirt size, however shirt sizes may limited.
We will have awards for the following
Overall Male & Female
Age group awards will also be presented to the top 3 male and female in each age group, as follows
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
Pre Race Packet Pick Up
Pre event packet pick up will be Wednesday, November 25th from 10am to 3pm at CrossFit McComb located at 2017 Natchez Dr, McComb, MS 39648. If you are not able to make it to pick up early, you may have a friend or family member pick up for you. No I.D. required. Also, we will have your packet available for pick up the morning of the event at the event site starting at 6:30am.

Another busy weekend for the members of CrossFit McComb! Jeff Adams, Kristen Spears, Jonathan White and Molly White all participated in the Summit Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Stop Drop and Roll 5k/10k! Coach LeeAnn Bates finished the Deep South Triathlon 70.3 in Ridgeland! Way to go!!!!!

Our members were all over this weekend, using their fitness and showing their strengths!
Jonathan White competed at the New Roads Triathlon Festival in Louisiana with Keith Kline.
Coach Joey Wells, Jessie Rymer, Rip McGraw and Coach LeeAnn Bates along with teammates from Elite CrossTraining in Brookhaven competed in the Pensacola Beach Brawl in Florida.
Tracy Deer and Kristen Spears ran the Conquer the Cave 5K in Alabama.

Friday, 9-11-2020 – CrossFit McComb will be joining the McComb Fire Department in a memorial run honoring the 2,977 people who died on 9/11/2001. We will meet at Dirt Cheap at 8:35. The run will begin at 8:46- the time of the collapse of the first tower.
Friday’s WOD will be a Hero workout honoring Dana Hannon of FDNY and is FREE to anyone who would like to join. 5:30am, 12:00pm, 4:30pm and 5:45pm
Monday- 9/7/2020– CrossFit McComb athletes participated in “Hotshots 19” Hero WOD Honoring the 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who tragically lost their lives fighting fires in Arizona on 6/30/2013.Continue reading →
